Back to the Spocht. Large picture of a ski jumper in the waiting room: Comment: "Now he's all by himself." Of course, otherwise he wouldn't be here! He comments on the subsequent, botched jump: "Not good, you could see that just visually." Oh what, optical vision, my ophthalmologist will have to explain that to me! And then, psychologically breathed into the ether: "A jump like that does something to you ..." Great, critical journalism, just like Lanz.
Also just in: "As a coach, you have to pick people up." Great, the coach drives round in the morning and picks up the whole team at home. He probably has a coach.
The biathlon gives me ear cancer. "There's Franzi, she'll come in fifth." Income? Huh? Did he say income? What is the man smoking? The verb einkommen doesn't exist. As a noun, however, it's exactly what you shouldn't pay the guy. Wow.
On football. "56,000 spectators have come here ..." Hello, hello - here it is, or does he also call his dog: "Rex, come here!" Yes, it's getting crazier and crazier, of course positively crazy, but at the end of the day that doesn't really matter, because by then it's getting pretty dark for these people anyway. I'm right there with you.
Enough? No, no mercy. "That was Gladbach's fifth attempt, but they didn't get the goal." Hammer. Oh, they don't score their own goals? I think Gladbach can wait a long time for someone to come and score a goal for them. Maybe Lanz, but never mind.
Some athletes train 24/7 and when the time comes, they take the risk - and go where with it, with the risk? Perhaps to the famous ski race of 1959, which Heinz Maegerlein commented legendarily at the time: "Thousands stood on the slopes and pistes." It doesn't sound suspicious at first sight, but when you hear it, it sounds like a lot of yellow snow.
I'm so glad that the PWA streams are commented on in English. I'm sure they talk rubbish there too, but at least I don't understand it.
