The South African break Jeffreys Bay enjoys a legendary reputation among surfers. Wing pro Cash Berzolla recently had an epic day and decided to take to the water. The rides on the endless walls of water are impressive - we can only hope that no surfers got in front of his foil.

Pump foiling through Hamburg City - Benjamin May on a sightseeing trip

Hamburg is perfect for exploring from the water, as not only the tourists on the launches in the harbour know, but also hordes of SUP and canoe paddlers. Benjamin May, on the other hand, prefers to pumpfoot: he set off on a very special sight-seeing tour through the canals and across the Outer and Inner Alster, past villas, cafés and idyllic parks. But the pump-foiling expedition also took him into the canals at the harbour and on the Elbe in front of the panorama of the Elbphilharmonie concert hall - always under the eyes of amazed spectators. "Pump foiling in Hamburg was an exciting adventure that brought the thrill of water sports to the centre of our cityscape," said the man with the legs of steel about his tour. "Hamburg's unique waterways provide the perfect backdrop for this innovative sport, which combines the energy of the city with the serenity of the water."

Valentin Lux actually wanted to go foiling - but then he was foiled. This time, the wave ride turned into an uncontrolled exit and, as if that wasn't enough, Valentin was also wiped out by a juicy wave. "Did I survive the white water?" Valentin asks his followers afterwards. Obviously he did, but it's not entirely clear how his equipment fared...

This finish not only hurts to watch, but also in real life. Ancor Sosa hits so hard here that he needs "a minute to himself" afterwards to sort out his bones. In the end, however, Ancor survived the crash without any injuries - and secured a place in the "Top Crashes of the Year".

Julien Rattotti is the reigning Big Air World Champion. The Frenchman is presumably currently training for his title defence mission. Looking at this clip, you can see that Rattotti has the necessary height, but still has some minor problems with board control. Julien takes a more relaxed view: "Everything is under control". He can prove this from 9 July, when the Big Air World Cup begins in Gran Canaria.

Mathis Ghio not only set a new speed record for wingfoilers in the south of France, but seven in one go: the highest speed, 1 second, 2 seconds, 10 seconds, 100 metres, 250 metres and 500 metres. "Yesterday's session was for the history books: 40-45 knots of offshore Tramontana wind in Le Rouet and plenty of motivation!" writes the Frenchman about his new records. However, he did not want to reveal exactly how fast he was, which will be announced at the weekend. Did he break 40 knots?

World premiere in wingfoiling: Lasse Harbacek has jumped the first double loop with the wing, the video of which he posted on Instagram yesterday. "I'm so happy that I finally managed this trick after all the ups and downs," he writes. "When I started this sport 4 years ago, I always had the dream of doing this jump while wingfoiling. Because I was never a really good windsurfer and this trick fascinated me so much. I decided that no matter how long it took, I would do this jump at some point in my life. But I never thought I would have the opportunity to jump a world premiere. When I tried it for the first time six months ago, I was so close. Unfortunately, I injured myself on the landing and was out for three months. The injury made me realise how important it is to prevent injuries through strength training. That's why I trained more during this time than ever before in my life. When I was finally injury-free again and wanted to try again after some time, I realised even more how much of a mental strain such an injury can put on you. I then tried to take a step back and do the things that I enjoyed the most at the time. Yesterday, I tried again in less than ideal conditions and got on well straight away. Now I'm more than motivated to tackle the next big project!"

Ever since French local Paul Artzner discovered the backflip for himself, it's better not to ride downwind of him on the water. After all, you could end up with a stray wingfoil board flying through the picture. In this case, you can only hope that there was some space - and that the board didn't burn up on re-entry into the atmosphere.

Malo Guénolé is one of the best wingfoilers in the waves. In this clip, he shows what is possible in typical Euro conditions with diagonal onshore winds and chest-high waves. His aerials in particular, which he likes to combine with rail grabs, are a real feast for the eyes.

Yes, Michael Näf and Joshua Pretorius are actually still in one piece. In view of this crash clip, which was shared by their joint sponsor Ensis, this is certainly not a matter of course, as some of the crashes shown really take your breath away.

For a moment, it looks as if Gregorio Pugliese will escape the four-metre-high wall of white water, but then Neptune decides otherwise. And so Gregorio gets a full washing programme that is a real wash. "But the equipment survived"The Italian summarised afterwards with relief.

No, Chris MacDonald is not the first to perform the double backflip on the water. Titouan Galea did it a few years ago on Maui. Since then, however, this move has disappeared into oblivion - it seemed too hard, too dangerous even for the most hardened pros. Now world champion Chris MacDonald has awoken the trick from its slumber. We can only hope that it won't take another three years before the next one dares to try it...
