"The heritage of Mistral is still alive", Director R&D Alexander Mettes told us in a major interview on the comeback of the former cult brand at the beginning of the year. Even though the windsurfing sector has been given a new boost, Mistral is still a multisport brand with a long tradition. SUPsThe company has become a leading brand for surfing, wing material, surfers and, last but not least, clothing. They are now launching a new collection with the m and the red dot.
"The St. Tropez clothing collection celebrates beach life and the casual lifestyle while remaining true to Mistral's timeless ethos of quality and style," the announcement states floridly. The garments are designed in subtle, timeless, azure blue Mediterranean colours and lighter, earthy tones, with the "M-Dot logo" either discreetly positioned or embroidered directly onto the fabric.
The Mistral collection includes T-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts and shorts, as well as leggings, crop tops, T-shirts, tank tops and bikinis for women. Some children's items are also available. Almost all sweatshirts, jogging shorts and trousers are made from 100% unbrushed, heavyweight cotton (360 g/m2), while T-shirts are made from a 215 g/m2 fabric blend of 94% cotton and 6% elastane, which is designed to ensure breathability and a good range of stretch in both horizontal and vertical directions.
"The branding is tastefully applied with small embroidered M-Dot patches on the chest or hem and embroidered flag pendants on the sleeves," says Mistral. Sweatshirts are available with larger embroidered M-Dot logos on the chest, and all T-shirts are provided with a loop for easy hanging.
