The first version of the X-Winger ( HERE there's a test) was available in sizes from 75 to 145 litres. JP-Australia's range of boards is now more clearly organised and differentiated. For freestylers and cracks looking for a board with less volume, there are the F-Winger and S-Winger models ( HERE there's an info) in sizes between 33 and 77 litres. The new X-Winger, which is now available in six sizes ranging from 88 litres to 144 litres, is the next step up.
Compared to the previous model, the new JP-Australia X-Winger has been visibly revised: The designers have given the board a little more length in order to reach the required take-off speed even faster in light winds. The nose area has been made narrower so that the board does not cut in during unintentional tochdowns and is gently steered back into the air. However, the bow is now thicker and therefore more voluminous so as not to lose any stability when launching. JP is now also utilising its expertise in the construction of windsurf boards for its wingfoil boards: the sterns of the larger X-Winger models feature the cut-outs familiar from windsurf boards. By reducing the wetted surface in the tail area through cut-outs, friction and thus resistance when starting off is reduced.
The X-Winger will be available in six sizes and two designs. In addition to a more affordable IPR design, there will also be a lighter and more expensive Pro version.
You will soon be able to read here on the website how the new X-Winger drives and whether the model can achieve its ambitious goals - a detailed test is already in progress.
