The Cross Wing has been revised several times in recent years, but has always been designed as an all-rounder for different areas of use, from freeride to wave to freestyle. The latest update in 2024 is not intended to change this, although manufacturer GA Sails claims to have significantly modified the model. The most striking changes are said to include a new window arrangement and the use of a crease-resistant material for the windows. The wing is now equipped with two SUP valves, and the front tube and the connection to the strut are said to have been made significantly stiffer, which should give the wing increased dimensional stability.
GA Sails also wants to have improved the materials used: "The triple ripstop material used in the front and centre area offers a very good mix of minimised stretch, lightness and robustness"according to the manufacturer. The GA Cross Wing will be available in the sizes 2.7/3.2/3.7/4.2/4.7/5.2/5.7 and 6.2 square metres and will cost between 999 and 1199 euros. You'll soon be able to find out how the update performs on the water here on the website - we've already been able to put a test model in the water.
Exciting detail: In addition to the Cross, the Cross LW ("light wind") is to be launched on the market soon. This will have three struts and will be available in sizes 6.7 and 7.2 square metres - you will soon be able to read more about this here on the website.
