In the past, we've also told you about the manufacturer Taaroa Foils already presented per test - such as the Wingfoil Freeride. With the AO Foil the brand is now launching an entry-level foil for just 649 euros. Instead of carbon wings, Taaroa has opted for a new type of fibreglass construction, which helps to significantly reduce the price - according to the brand itself "without sacrificing quality and performance". The wings are said to be similarly stiff, very robust and only slightly heavier than comparable carbon wings. The AO Foil is supplied with an aluminium mast and the fuselage is also made of aluminium. The AO components are part of Taaroa's modular range, meaning that the front wing, stabiliser mast and fuselage are compatible with the higher-quality components in the range. So if you want, you can get an inexpensive set to start with and then upgrade your foil bit by bit over time.
The foil set comes without a bag with the following components:
- Mast: 82 centimetres (aluminium)
- Fuselage: 62 centimetres (aluminium)
- front wing: 1500 cm2 (fibreglass)
- Stabiliser: 300 cm2 (fibreglass)
- Price: 649 Euro
