Wind, wing and kite foilers share the playground: in addition to the European Wingrace Championships, a cross-discipline foil freestyle event also took place on Lake Silvaplana at the weekend.

At the contest on Lake Silvaplana, everyone was free to choose their own toy, and several set-ups were allowed. The aim was to wow the jury and the audience. "Of course we all competed, but what I'll remember from the event is the huge grins on our faces when we crossed each other on the water and the whoops of joy when we jumped over each other."
In the end, Balz was able to impress with his windfoil freestyle and win the "Best of 3" ahead of wingfoil hotshot Benjamin May and kitefoiler Peer Schnyder.
