It's hard to believe how fast the JP-Australia Supersport really is. The freerace board always feels comfortable and is easy to jibe.

Like an ICE train travelling at 240 km/h, you have to look twice at the speedometer to believe the speed of the Supersport. The board is extremely smooth and comfortable throughout the entire speed range and you simply have to use the proverbial "like on rails" to describe the super stable glide around both axles.

Despite the relatively short, straight planing surface, the rocker curve and volume distribution are obviously so harmonious that the board can plane very easily - it already appears somewhat larger and stable when dipping - and flies over the water with maximum stability even at top speed. JP has given the Supersport a 40 centimetre long fin - which is slightly above the group average.

No freerace board is easier to jibe

Even without a lot of riding skill, you can easily utilise 90 percent of the potential, with a lot of comfort, good damping and without too much physical effort. The Supersport feels like it glides with a little more water contact than a Goya Bolt or Starboard Futura; more effort is then required to let the board fly on the fin for the last three per cent of performance. The JP board approaches the jibe with a very similar character. No freerace board is easier to jibe, with a little more pressure the switch is automatically set to medium radii, then no choppy wave can stop the Supersport or throw it off course. The Supersport would even be a good companion for learning the power jibe - and the inside position of the straps will certainly also suit more experienced freeriders.

Standing on the rounded deck at the back is very comfortable in both positions, the pads are less rough than usual with a rubbery surface and therefore also slip-resistant. The performance strengths are in the lower to upper-medium wind range with plenty of planing potential and a particularly good average speed in gusty conditions. Anyone looking for GPS top speed thrills might even find the Supersport too well-behaved, but will be surprised when they look at the "speedo".

JP-Australia Supersport - the conclusion

The most comfortable entry into the freerace class, the board is super easy to surf, jibe and comfortable in the entire wind range. The planing position is particularly stable, although this also throttles very tight jibes somewhat.
