The Shield Vest from ProLimit is available in four sizes (S/M/L/XL) and is designed to function both as impact protection and as a harness. The thick padding in the torso area should also take the sting out of hard crashes. According to the manufacturer, the hook sits quite high, which should offer the best freedom of movement and prevent the hook from being immortalised in the deck of the board when climbing up. In addition, the hook has been positioned so that it can move sideways - this should make it possible, for example, to continue riding hooked in a twisted foot position. In the back area, the strap runs over a fixed plate in order to distribute the forces over a larger area.
The ProLimit Shield Vest retails for 189 euros. We have already put a test model in the water, and you will soon be able to read a detailed report here on the website. Further information can be found on the manufacturer's website until then.
