Starts in the long distance, sprint and tech race - and between the races, Ole sends us a relaxed summary: "So the first day was pretty exhausting with all the heats for the tech race and the 200 metre sprint. So six races in total, which I realised in the evening. I went to bed early to prepare for the LD. The organisation here is great, all the starts run perfectly and to the second. In the long distance race itself, I got off to a good start and was able to maintain my position in the leading group.
The speed was high, around 10.5 km/h
Everyone kept doing a bit of lead work, so the pace was correspondingly high, around 10.5 kilometres per hour. In the last two kilometres, Manuel and I were able to pull away slightly. Manuel upped the pace again at the end, but I could barely keep up and had enough of a gap to third place to take the silver medal. Today I'm back for the 200 metres in the B final. I'm happy to have got this far as my focus this year is more on the long distance races. On Saturday I'll see what happens in the A final in the tech race."
Congratulations on being runner-up in the European Championships and we wish you continued success!
