Waves, wind and sun - the perfect beach mix for water sports enthusiasts. At the SUP & Wingfoil Festival Fehmarn, this was the case for three days in a row.

With this mix, the south beach on Fehmarn once again provided the stage for three days of exciting stand-up paddle and wingfoil races. But also for all those interested, who ventured out onto the Baltic Sea in the free taster courses.

Paddling ten kilometres in waves and wind - that was the first challenge of the Long distance racewhich was held on the first day. Over 80 athletes made their way from the Staberhuk lighthouse to the festival site to determine the new German long distance champions. At the same time, the wingfoilers competed in five complete rounds of racing. Whether it was due to the sporting role models - all the free taster courses in wingsurfing, SUP and SUP yoga were quickly booked up right from the start. According to the organiser, the yoga courses on the beach and the balance board offers were also very popular on all three days.

On Saturday, it was then all about the SUP titles in the Technical Racea technically demanding competition held just under land in the surf zone. After the start on the beach, the athletes had to round several buoys on the approximately one kilometre long course. Wingfoiling continued with racing, as on the previous day, so that seven heats could be completed by the end of the event. And if that wasn't enough action for you, you could celebrate at the beach party until after midnight.

On the last day of the event, the wingfoil freestylers also got in on the action. Meanwhile, the SUP sprint races focussed less on style and more on speed. In addition to the numerous wingfoil and SUP racing formats, there was also plenty on offer for newcomers - 12 exhibitors presented their equipment on the beach, which visitors were able to test. And so the organisers draw a positive conclusion after the 13th edition of the SUP & Wingfoil Festival - edition 14 is already being planned for summer 2025. More information will follow on the Website of the festival and of course here on our website. You can find some impressions in the photo gallery at the beginning of the article.
