Even heavy or less experienced riders can magically get the Wizard over the planing threshold and it holds its speed exceptionally well even in wind holes or when switching to switch stance. However, much more precision is required when ducking, as the deeper profile has a life of its own and simply doesn't float quite as neutrally as some other sails. Similar to the GunSails Yeah, the Wizard Pro also develops a lot of lift once you have mastered the duck. This is ideal for catapulting yourself into the air for power or double-power moves. On the other hand, you have to make noticeable compromises in strong winds, when the Wizard develops noticeable pressure point shifts and the light sail feeling disappears as if by magic.
Surf summary of the NeilPryde Wizard Pro 4.8
Maximum lift for power moves meets good planing performance - making the Wizard a tip for light to medium winds. The upwind range is slightly smaller.
