The mb Basilisk is said to be a real Swiss army knife - and can be used for SUPing, wings and windsurf foiling as well as windsurfing with fins. This is made possible by the full range of boxes. In addition to a US box for mounting fins, a double rail for windsurfing and wing foils is installed further forward. There are also small side boxes that allow small side fins to be mounted for SUP use. The multi-concept was co-developed by former team rider Balz Müller, who himself practises all types of water sports at the highest level.
The Basilisk model will be available in three sizes: 92, 106 and 125 litres. Due to their lengths of 182 and 193 centimetres, the two smaller sizes should primarily be suitable for experienced windsurf foilers with freestyle ambitions and as moderate wingboards. The size with 125 litres (215 centimetres in length) is then also an option for SUPing in the waves - assuming the appropriate riding skills. The Basilisk 125 should also offer less experienced surfers sufficient stability for windsurf foiling. The same will apply for use as a wingsurf board. The board has been fitted with various loop plugs to accommodate the different stance positions for windsurfing, foiling and wingsurfing.
According to the manufacturer, a high-quality hardcore full-sandwich carbon construction guarantees absolute durability. The Basilisk is available for 2099 euros.

Crossoverboards: Are they good at everything or nothing?
Opinions about crossover boards are as varied as the supposed area of application of such concepts. Critics argue that a board that is supposed to work for windsurfing, wingsurfing and SUPing cannot be competitive in any single discipline. Supporters of crossover boards argue that if a board offers 70 per cent performance in three disciplines, the bottom line is that it is a great thing.
We have also extensively tested such concepts in the past - sometimes with very different results.
with sometimes very different results, which you can see under the Search term "Crossoverboards" can read about it.
Regardless of the brand and model, it is safe to say that the individual disciplines of windsurfing, wingsurfing and SUPing place very different demands on the useful dimensions of a board. Nevertheless, such concepts can of course make sense for certain water sports enthusiasts.
