Thanks to a new inner lining called "Graphene Plush", the suits in the premium "Select" line should be around 20 per cent warmer than before - at least that's what Marc Burhans, Product Manager at manufacturer ION, promises. Graphene has been considered a "miracle material" since its discovery and earned its inventors the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2010, as it is considered extremely thin, flexible and extremely robust, which is why it is already used in many areas such as the automotive, aircraft and semiconductor industries.
Graphene is also a material that heats up quickly, retains heat for a long time and dries quickly - ideal for use in wetsuits, according to ION. To achieve this, 100 per cent of the polyester yarn used to produce the wetsuit is first coated with a graphite solution and only then processed further.
