The WIP Wiflex Pro helmet for water sports enthusiasts weighs just 250 grams (surf measurement). This is astonishing because the helmet is by no means slimmed down - on the contrary: the outer shell appears hard and comparatively thick. However, because the shell has built-in "expansion joints", it can adapt quite well to different head shapes.
In general, the helmet encloses the head very well and therefore already has a good fit. The helmet can be further customised using the additional padding strips supplied. The fastening under the chin works magnetically and is easy to operate, the strap is comfortably padded.
The ear pieces are perforated for better hearing, which can cause some wind noise in the ears on the water. However, if this bothers you, you can easily remove the ear covers. One small drawback is the elasticated strap at the back of the head for adjusting the size, which quickly slipped through on our test model. Water sports enthusiasts with a head circumference of less than 58 centimetres should ideally try on the one size before buying.
Forward WIP Wiflex Pro helmet - the conclusion:
The Forward WIP Wiflex Pro helmet is light as a feather and barely noticeable on the head, it also impresses with its good fit and impact-resistant shell. And at just under 80 euros, it's not even overly expensive.
