Opinions differ when it comes to the handle system. Those who favour maximum lightness often prefer soft handles. Booms allow complete freedom in terms of grip position, while hard handles are somewhere in between.
With the new Vayu Aura 2 Wing, you no longer have to decide for or against a particular grip system, as the Wing offers the option of riding it with soft grips, firm handles or even a continuous boom.
The Vayu Aura 2 is supplied with fixed grips and soft handles. If you want to use a continuous boom, you can buy one separately (prices: 99 to 159 euros). Currently, each wing size also requires its own boom length. Apart from the grip system, the Aura 2 has also undergone design changes.
The wingtips have been made slimmer to reduce the inert mass when rotating, which should make the wing feel lighter and more agile. Performance when pumping and control in gusts should also benefit because the wingtips can now twist better. In general, however, the orientation of the wing remains unchanged compared to its sister model, the V3. The Aura 2 is still flatter in profile, has a higher aspect ratio (i.e. it is slightly more stretched) and is therefore designed more for speed and perfect drifting in the waves. The V3 is therefore more compact and more powerful.
The Aura 2 will be available in the sizes 2.5/3.0/3.5/4.0/4.5/5.0 and 6.0, with prices ranging from 939 to 1119 euros, depending on the size. How it you will soon find out in our detailed test.
