Croslake is expanding its range of multi-piece hardboards with the three-piece Bomber 11'0" model. The bow and stern are the same as the four-piece 12'6" model, the centre section is new. The three-part construction not only ensures a particularly fast set-up - no comparable iSUP can be inflated so quickly, silently and effortlessly - but also increases rigidity on the water and reduces the overall weight. With a total of nine large plastic nuts that screw onto solid pins, the parts are securely connected without tools. The centre section is 1.49 metres long and should therefore be easy to store in any cellar at home.
The new Croslake Bomber made of robust, thermoplastic material (which is easy to recycle) is no lightweight on the beach, but once on the water it "paddles pretty normally", as our amateur tester Frank Lewisch (top photo, location: Lake Garda) judged. And our test "pros" also attest to the more agile feel of the latest addition than the well-known 12'6'' Bomber. Even demanding pivot turns, where the bow lifts slightly out of the water, are possible. During normal turns, the board is stable in the water and turns well.
The board glides stably and runs well in a straight line. With a body weight of 84 kilos, we were always high, dry and stable - there is even room for improvement. The manufacturer approves the 11'0'' board up to 95 kilos. A lot of the possible payload disappears into the hull if required. The two large storage compartments can hold a lot of luggage, making a net on deck superfluous. The plug-in fin can be fitted in seconds - simply plugged in from above - and comes up by itself when the boat touches the ground.
Conclusion on the Croslake Bomber 11'0":
The Bomber is a robust, quickly assembled all-round board for pleasure tours and with an exclusive storage space concept. Without pump action and with a compact pack size.
The board is manufactured in Italy using the rotational moulding process, and the price for so much "Made in Europe" is 1190 euros. Info can be found at Croslake->
