Theresa Steinlein is travelling to the Olympic Games as the German starter in the iQFoil! Meanwhile, Sebastian Kördel has to hope for the results of other riders after a black day.

Penultimate day at the Trofeo Princesa Sofia regatta in Mallorca: Theresa Marie Steinlein starts the Medal Races in sixth place in the heats and can move up even further. She has already fulfilled all the DOSB criteria for nomination on the iQFoil board and has also secured the essential nation start place. The Marseille ticket is secured!

Team-mate Sebastian Kördel, on the other hand, experienced a black Friday, crashing from ninth place to 18th with an unfortunate early start and almost a dozen other fellow sufferers on the final day.

Kördel has to stand idly by

Now the 2022 world champion and 2023 runner-up will have to watch the final of his third and final elimination regatta as a spectator and hope that New Zealand's Josh Armit does not finish in the top three in the final standings of all three elimination regattas in order to achieve the top ten national rankings needed for the 2024 Olympics.

Armit is in sixth place ahead of the Medal Races, so everything is wide open. Pawel Tarnowski, Nicolas Goyard and Yun Pouliquen occupy the top three, while Max Körner remains in 100th place. The Norwegian duo of Mina Mobekk and Maya Gysler continue to lead the women's race ahead of France's Lola Sorin. Sophia Meyr is in 34th place, Alisa Engelmann was unable to compete in any further runs due to an elbow injury and is 54th, Lena Haverland is in 70th place.
