ProLimit Drift - a harness especially for wingsurfers
A harness can also make sense for wingsurfing. The ProLimit Drift harness is designed to meet the special requirements of wingsurfing.

Opinions differ on the question of whether harnesses make sense for wingsurfing. Our editorial team has also tried out wingfoiling with a harness - you can find all the basics about harness surfing and a report on their experiences here HERE .

A look at the water shows: While most hobby wingers and freestylers do without a harness, the first racers for regattas such as the Defi Wing or the Winger of the Sea on the relief of the arms through the harness. Generally speaking, standard kitesurf or windsurf harnesses can also be used for wingfoiling, but these have the disadvantage that the position of the hook is largely fixed. As wingsurfing also involves a lot of twisted foot position("Switch Stance") is driven, this leads to a suboptimal position of the hook.

Special wingsurf harnesses such as the ProLimit Drift are therefore designed very differently to conventional harness models: the hook can move sideways on a harness - in switch stance this means that the hook can move to the side of the body and you remain hooked in during this phase.

Because the forces generated when foiling are comparatively low due to the low resistance of the foil in the water, wing harnesses such as the ProLimit Drift also come with a narrow shape - this should provide sufficient support and not restrict freedom of movement. ProLimit has also thought of eyelets for the optional attachment of a wing or board leash.

The new ProLimit Drift harness is available in one size at a price of 129 euros. Further information is also available HERE on the manufacturer's website.
