The declared all-rounder Patrik F-Cross is available in four sizes. However, the size we tested with 113 litres should put a smile on the face of sporty freeriders in particular.

The F-Cross model is intended to embody the typical freemove board in the Patrik range and is equally suitable for flat water, manoeuvres and small waves.

On land:

Although the smaller sizes of the Patrik F-Cross with 87 and 94 litres are also designed as single fins, their shape has been tuned with more ground curve in the tail to make them easier to turn than the sizes 104 and 113, which, according to the manufacturer, have been noticeably optimised for speed and early planing. The Patrik F-Cross 113 we tested offers a manoeuvre-oriented inside position for the straps as well as a freeride position that is moderately offset to the outside. The pads are grippy and the straps are comfortable. The scope of delivery includes a 28 mm fin made from robust G10 material, while a carbon-kevlar construction in the deck is designed to ensure rigidity and durability.

On the water:

The fact that the Patrik F-Cross is quite stretched makes a positive impact when planing - without a noticeable threshold, the Patrik slides well even with a passive riding style. The standing position is extremely comfortable due to the cambered deck shape, even in the 3-loop setup. When powered up, the F-Cross runs beautifully free and subjectively feels very fast. However, it combines this sporty feel with good damping in the chop, so that even less experienced riders feel safe at all times. The agile-looking board is also ideal for jumps or even loops. In the jibe, the F-Cross is particularly suited to medium and wide radii - here the rails offer plenty of grip and safety to steer into carving jibes or power jibes at full speed. Really tight radii - like the ones you like to ride when riding small surf waves or tightly turning a carving 360 - require comparatively high edge pressure and a few kilos on the ribs.

surf conclusion:

The Patrik F-Cross 113 impresses across the board as an easy-gliding, sporty and fast freeride board for heating and carving manoeuvres - and is pleasantly easy to ride. As a waveboard in disguise for the Baltic Sea, it lacks a little turning ability.
