Naish Jet HA Foil 1400
With theJet Foil HA Complete Naish wants to appeal to ambitious wingsurfers. The foil should offer a high speed potential for jumps, but should also be suitable for foil surfing and SUP foiling. We have the complete setJet HA 1400 Complete tested with the corresponding 75 mm aluminium mast.

The Naish Jet HA Foil on land:

In addition to the 1400 front wing, the set is also available in four other sizes with 1040/1240/1800 and 2140cm2 front wings. TheJet HA 1400 Complete - the abbreviation"HA" stands for "High Aspect", i.e. an elongated wing shape - comes with matching tools, a cover for the wings and a bag and costs 1419 euros.

At a measured 3.83 kilos, the Naish Foil is very light in comparison; comparable weights are normally only achieved by foils with a full carbon mast. This is made possible by the high-quality prepreg construction of the wings, in which the carbon layers are pre-impregnated with exactly the right amount of resin before processing. The foil is easy to mount, but when new you should always check the tightness of the screws during longer sessions.

On the water:

The fact that the Naish Jet HA 1400 is a typical high-performance wing is noticeable at the first start - as expected, a higher speed is required here compared to wings with a thicker profile so that the foil takes off and the airflow is stable. The take-off itself is predictable and harmonious, the acceleration is impressive. When powered up, the Naish Jet HA 1400 offers pleasingly little drag, and if you use a fast wing and keep it tight, you can reach high speeds with the foil. This means that the foil is not only fun for freeriding, but also offers the best conditions for jumping and freestyle tricks. At 64 centimetres, the relatively short fuselage makes the foil agile enough around the transverse axis ("nose up, nose down") so that you can pump it well, whether in wind holes or on small swells. Nevertheless, the Naish Foil is by no means difficult to ride; all in all, it provides a really good mix of agility in manoeuvres and the necessary stability on the straight. It is also stable in the water during jibes and other manoeuvres and carries speed well through the turn. The prerequisite is that you dare to initiate the manoeuvre with enough speed, because the Naish Foil is not a comfortable cruiser that continues to fly stoically even at walking speed.

For use in the waves or in conditions with high chop, we found theJet HA Complete supplied 75 mast a little too short. Therefore our tip: TheJet HA 1400 is also available as"Semi Complete" For 979 euros you get the wing, fuselage and accessories, the individual mast (449 to 519 euros) can then be purchased for a manageable surcharge of 9 to 79 euros. Aluminium masts of 55/65/75/85 and 95 centimetres are available from Naish, which can be used to adapt the set to the respective requirements.

Conclusion:

The Naish Jet HA 1400 Complete is a fast yet easy-to-ride foil. This makes it suitable for slightly advanced intermediates as well as ambitious wingsurfers who are looking for a wing for jumping and tricks. As with all High Aspect wings, the prerequisite is that you actively pump in order to achieve the necessary take-off speed. The foil works ideally in combination with boards under 110 litres. For riders over 85 kilos, the Jet HA 1400 is more likely to be a wing for more wind (>15 knots), for lighter wingsurfers (60-75 kilos) the 1400 is a good all-rounder for light to medium winds.
