On land: The new F2 Vegas was designed as a freeride board and is therefore the successor to the Vantage Air. F2 also offers (as in the test) an LTD version that is around 800 grams lighter and equipped with a better fin. In terms of strap positions, you can choose between a moderately sporty outside position and a climber-friendly inside position.
On the water: The F2 Vegas hits the nail on the head when it comes to freeride: even if the F2 has to give way to some of its competitors in certain sub-disciplines, such as top speed and planing, the board makes up for this with excellent control in strong winds and easy handling. At no time do you get the feeling that the Vegas is doing things you don't want it to. The bow always stays down, even in strong gusts, without giving ambitious windsurfers the feeling that the F2 is boring or even slow. This easy-going characteristic also continues seamlessly in the jibe: although the board requires a little more foot pressure, it then runs like on rails through medium and wide radii - ideal conditions for pushing the jibe rate upwards. The F2 is also fun for good riders because it carves well and comes out of the jibe with plenty of speed.
