Wave surfing is a kind of art form and characterises every surfer. It is a game with the elements where you become one with nature. Every wave is different and you have to adapt to new conditions every time. The right timing, control and experience are crucial to carve waves in your own unique way like an artist. SUP surfing is probably the easiest way to enjoy this exhilarating feeling. You can ride your first waves after just a few attempts. But in order to really have fun, you should start with some preparation.

So here are the 7 golden rules for the best feeling in the world:

1. wave science and surf watching: Waves always break differently, depending on the underwater conditions and the height of the swell - that's what makes surfing so exciting. Here's a quick wave one-two to help you learn to read waves better.

2nd preparation:Before every wave session, SUP surfers should be in good shape, choose the right board and have good control of the board in flat water.

3. right of way rules: Preparation also includes, above all, knowing the rules of right of way among surfers in the surf.

4. aligning in the water:If you start intelligently, you won't waste any energy and won't embarrass yourself.

5. cross waves: With the right technique, you can also cross surprisingly large knockers.

Catch the 6th wave:Using two different foot techniques, you can paddle towards a rolling wave (take off) like a sprint.

Ride the 7th wave:After take-off, you use the thrust of the wave and the glide of the board to make smooth turns.

You will find all 7 golden rules described and illustrated in detail in this series of articles.
