Not bad, but not ideal either: if individual boxes on multifin boards are not used, the open fin boxes cause turbulence. This can have a noticeable effect on riding behaviour, as we have just seen with the test of the We One We Style Wave . Many manufacturers supply the corresponding covers with the boards, but some boards come without covers - or the parts are lost over time.
K4 now offers a selection of covers for Slotboxes, Mini-Tuttle and US boxes. The slot box and US versions are available in two different sizes, all in K4's typical yellow or black colour for 5.75 per pair.
- K4 Slotbox Blanker 90mm
- K4 Slotbox Blanker 130mm
- K4 Mini-Tuttle Blanker
- K4 US-Box Blanker 130mm
- K4 US-Box Blanker 205mm
K4 also offers a Deep Tuttle Spacer, which can be used to compensate for the difference between a normal Tuttlebox fin and a Deep Tuttle fin box. This is also available in yellow and black and costs €10.00.
K4 Fins made a name for themselves a few years ago with relatively inexpensive but good plastic fins in the wave sector; the yellow track holders are instantly recognisable. The British company now also works with fibreglass-reinforced plastics to achieve different degrees of hardness and to be able to offer longer fins.
