The Cosmic is easy to rig and offers a typical profile for this class: With a lot of pull on the luff, the leech relaxes a long way down - and yet a deep profile remains in the centre. This creates good pressure in light winds and the Cosmic accelerates away from the starting line together with the strongest planing kites. The maximum planing trim with only loose clew attachment brings out a lot of planing potential, but is more suitable for constant light winds. The easily controllable wind range is then quickly restricted upwards with increasing pull on the back hand; with two centimetres more tension on the clew, the usable range is significantly larger and the glide performance is only moderately reduced. We would therefore generally favour a little clew tension.
It's not always easy to find the really perfect trim straight away - so having some experience in fine-tuning is no disadvantage. The Cosmic can then also be set up for rough conditions, but is no longer quite as stable in the hand as in light wind trim. It provides pleasant damping in every trim - exactly between sport and comfort. In the jibe, the camber rotates well, the deep profile turns noticeably, but not unsustainably.
