With the V8 you save yourself the gym fee. The luff needs to be pushed through with a lot of power and then shows a very harmonious profile - transitioning from the bulbous lower section to the flat and very wide twisting top. With obviously efficient and effective aerodynamics. The profile runs very cleanly from the centre-wide mast pocket at a flat angle away from the mast and yet forms a deep profile, roughly at the position of the rear trapeze clip.
The effort put into trimming definitely pays off on the water, as the sail combines the best planing potential with very good top speed in one trim. And all this with particularly smooth behaviour in the hands - at least when planing, as the profile develops a little more life of its own when bobbing than a more agile, neutral RRD, for example. In purely objective terms, it resembles the GunSails characteristics a little, but is firmer, more direct and at least subjectively a little sportier.
The sail consistently impresses with a light, easy to control ride and excellent acceleration throughout the entire wind range. In gusts, it does not pull on the back of the hand, but rather vehemently forwards with great acceleration. The comparatively light feel is also maintained in manoeuvres.
