On land:The Twister is starting the new season with changes: the mast track has been moved to the rear and the rear loop to the front. This means that the wide stance of the previous year, which took some getting used to, has been toned down. What has remained is the board's domy, narrow but also thick tail, on which you stand well when going upwind.
On the water: The Tabou is not a passive gliding wonder - if you stand lazily at the top and wait for it to start, you are wasting the board's great potential: its acceleration. Two pumps and the Tabou pulls away powerfully, becomes free and takes the speed with it through wind holes. Although the fin is quite small, it can also take a 5.3. Even if you switch to switch stance, the Twister remains free and fast, even at the lower glide limit you can pop the board out of the water easily. For tricks like shakas, it helps that the tail is quite narrow, making it easy to carve. In the air, the board feels very compact, probably also because the mast track and straps are even closer together. If you put a little pressure on the tail when landing, you can slide straight through into a double manoeuvre. The edges only catch if you make a big mistake, otherwise the board rotates freely and radically through all the tricks on offer.
