The double concaves in the planing surface of the F-Cross are used in a very measured way, a mini-V at the fins increases slightly towards the front. The shape is clearly trimmed for speed. The thickness curve looks harmonious. Equipped with four straps, the board really leaves hardly any freeride wishes unfulfilled: It planes neatly and stably from the rather tippy dune ride, accelerates quickly - with enough wind - to the best top speed and in this environment, supported by the large single fin, acts like a free-running, direct and sporty freeride board that you can let fly with pressure on the fin
The strap positions on the outside are much closer to the rail than on most of the other models in the test, which also suits the sporty, fast characteristics well. The board also performs really well in fast jibes with a medium or slightly wider radius, even when carved properly. The board requires some guidance to stay on track, but rewards you with maximum exit speed at the end of the turn. This becomes noticeably more challenging in choppy water, but is still doable. There are only slight limits to the shape and fin equipment in very tight turns and wagons in front of the wave. However, experienced freeriders will be able to get good performance and snappy jibes out of the board in flat and choppy water.
