The Severne Dyno 115 in the individual evaluation with all strengths and weaknesses and in comparison to other freemoveboards 2023.

The striking shape with the very thick, rounded deck area under the straps and the footstraps and fins positioned close to the tail - as well as the side fins that are slightly angled in the direction of travel and the particularly pronounced V on the underside - arouses curiosity.

And on the water you can feel it immediately: the board likes a little more wind to get going on the short planing surface with a lot of rocker, but then turns superbly with a little more pressure. The fins bite into every turn: in flat water or in front of moderate, breaking waves. The soft pads and rounded deck contour are wonderfully comfortable. From the secure standing position, you can easily build up the necessary pressure for snappy turns in the waves, where the shape feels very comfortable. The board can also be pressed particularly tightly at the end of jibes - for 360s, for example.

For cautious, first glide jibes you would wish for a little more glide potential in the turn, the shape is rather designed for tight turns with a lot of smack. Then it offers the best grip and control. For pure freeriding (heating and jibing) the board runs a little hard and not completely free, the set-up is clearly designed for (freestyle) manoeuvres and wave trips. Heavier surfers looking for a manoeuvring machine for constant wind are therefore best advised to go for the Dyno.
