Do you need two 3S - Plus and Classic? The answer is quite clear: yes! The two complement each other wonderfully. The 3S Plus is always very stable when bobbing and planing - it glides off rather leisurely, but then accelerates solidly to at least a very decent top speed. The board provides excellent control at all times, also because the fairly flat planing position is maintained in gusts. On demand, however, the Plus ignites an impressive firework display of manoeuvres. Wide power jibes are not its strong point: the board hops a little more, especially in choppy water, and requires significantly more skill for planing jibes than its classic sister ship.
On the other hand, it can't turn tightly enough: you can easily waggle in front of the wave from the ankle or press the board into tight jibes and 360s without any effort. The board also offers very good grip for cut backs in the wave and is therefore much more suitable for wave beginners than for learning the power jibe. With good pop, the board can be catapulted out of the water quite easily and also invites you to perform jumped and slid freestyle moves. The Plus is a versatile all-round board for advanced windsurfers who might also want to try their hand at surfing breaking waves - or would like to try out more challenging freestyle manoeuvres.
